Privacy Policy
Effective 11 October 2026
EwaScan is a document scanner for iPhone. In short: EwaScan does not collect, store or share any of your data. Your documents are processed and kept on your iPhone, and nothing is sent to us.
Your documents
- Scans and the files you create are saved only on your iPhone, in EwaScan’s folder, which you can also see in the Files app under “On My iPhone”.
- Text recognition, automatic naming, page straightening and translation run on your device using Apple’s built-in technology. Your documents are not uploaded anywhere.
- Recognized text is added to your iPhone’s search index so you can find scans in Spotlight. This index stays on your device.
- Like other app data, your documents may be included in your iPhone or iCloud backups, according to your own backup settings. These backups are handled by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy.
- When you share a document, it goes only where you choose to send it.
Camera and photos
EwaScan uses the camera only while you scan, and only to capture documents. When you import photos, you pick them in Apple’s photo picker, and EwaScan receives only the photos you select. EwaScan does not access the rest of your library.
Purchases
EwaScan Pro is bought through the App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never see your name, payment details or Apple Account. The app only checks with the App Store whether Pro has been purchased.
No tracking, no analytics, no ads
EwaScan has no accounts, no servers of its own, no advertising and no analytics or tracking tools, and it contains no third-party code that collects data. A few settings (such as whether automatic capture is on) are stored on your device.
Crash reports
If you have chosen in your iPhone’s settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports. They do not contain your documents or identify you, and we use them only to fix problems.
Children
EwaScan collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new effective date.
